Church tour with organ concert
Our weekly organ concert and church tour will take you on a journey through the fascinating history of the Baroque master builders of the Bregenzerwald region. Find out more about the Auer Guild, founded in 1657, and the masters who designed and built significant Baroque churches and monasteries in Switzerland, southern Germany, Vorarlberg and Alsace, including renowned works such as St Gallen, Einsiedeln and Birnau.
The Auer Church itself is a masterpiece, with stucco artist Johann Jakob Rüf transforming the Gothic church (built in 1388) into a Baroque jewel. At its centre stands the listed organ, originally built around 1800 by Josef Bergönzle. This newly renovated ‘queen of instruments‘ will be played for our guests as part of the tour.
