Holdamoos nature experience with herb garden
Holdamoos presents 400 years of alpine history. The centerpiece is a mountain hut. There is also a herb garden, an adventurous suspension bridge, a Kneipp facility, and a signposted nature trail.
Route length: 5.5 km (there and back)
Duration: approx. 2 ½ hours
Elevation difference: 90 meters

Auer Ried /Argenschlucht nature trail
Nature lovers will get their money’s worth here. The themes of this hike are the power of water, geology, nature conservation, ancient cultural landscapes, and the mighty Kanisfluh mountain. More than 50 rare plants grow in the Auer Ried. The wet rough pastures and litter slopes with their numerous characteristic old hay huts are crisscrossed by watercourses, gallery forests, and wetland biotopes.

Bergkristallhütte
The Bergkristallhütte at 1,250 m is a managed mountain hut and therefore a particularly popular hiking destination. The St. Michael Chapel at Bodenvorsäß, one of the largest alpine pastures in the Bregenzerwald, is well worth seeing.

Kanisfluh with Edelweiß Hut
Au’s local mountain can be reached without any great mountaineering difficulties. Good hiking equipment is required. The breathtaking view of the almost vertical north face is particularly impressive. With a little luck, you may also see one of the approx. 80 ibexes that live there. If you prefer a shorter route, you can drive to the Edelweißhütte and start the tour from there.

Liegstein
The Liegstein is the highlight of the Mittagsfluh. Not only is the view of the Liegstein from our hotel impressive. Once you reach the top, you will be impressed by its unique view. It is easy to reach. If you want to conquer a second summit, you can continue hiking to the Mittagsfluh.
Route length: 9.5 km (there and back)
Duration: 5 hours

Themed trail “Der große Alpgang”
The Alpine Trail describes the three-stage farming system in the Bregenzerwald. Texts about Alpine life and the cultural landscape are engraved in stones. The hike covers 14 stations between home farms, cattle pastures, sheep pastures, mountain farms, hay meadows, Vorsäß, Alps, high Alps, and wild hay meadows on the sunny side of Au.
