Then as Now
Every week, Walter Lingg insists on helping his guests get acquainted with our little corner of the world. Whether it’s on his weekly walk through town, watching the cheese maker, shingler and lumberman demonstrate their trades, or on a visit to our local baroque church, retracing the paths of the old master builders from the “Auer Zunft” craftsman’s guild (occasionally to the strains of an organ concert). Or accompany Walter up to the Vorsäßhütte (alpine cabin) called the “Armengemach” (“Poor Man’s Bower”), where the group relaxes in its idyllic setting to learn about the remarkable life on the alp. Anyone who comes along on Walter’s jaunts takes away a lot. And has a lot to tell.
